Trousers...?

Oh goodness, I can't decide how I feel about these trousers. I was so excited when I found them at the thrift store, because I've seen some amazing looks with ladies rocking trousers lately and I wanted a pair of my own. I wasn't gonna shell out big bucks for them because I knew there were tons lurking in thrift stores, I just had to find the right ones. I thought I'd finally found the perfect pair and I was quite pleased when I put this outfit together. But then my boyfriend said they looked "big." And when I first looked at these pictures, I wasn't so sure if I liked them...but the longer I look the more the trousers grow on me. In short, I need your opinions!

Sunglasses - Target; Top - Gap; Belt, trousers - thrifted; Wedges - Gianni Bini

P.S. I think I've decided to nickname these "mants." Man + pants = mants. Man pants...mants...eh? It makes more sense than "jeggings," right?

Mmm I see what your boyfriend's saying, but that's just the style of them.
I don't think everyone can pull these off (My fat ass certainly can't!) but these look great on you. I really like this outfit! =]

I think they're perfect! The baggyness is part of the style! I would just wear a slimmer top. I love how they are cuffed and you wore heels with them, so springy!

I am actually incredibly jealous of these. I have been looking for a pair of khaki trousers forever now but can never find a pair small enough!!!

You are rocking them.

I love these trousers, however I think they might even look more amazing as shorts! Possibly a new sewing project?

I love those pants. I have never worn pleated pants before but they look so cute on you!! Love it!!

They look great! They are supposed to be loose fitting up top, and some usually taper down.

These are perfect! No need to be self-conscious - they are spot on trend. I think it's such a new shape that it takes some getting used to. But you look great!

They are roomier than normal jeans, slacks, ect. but that is the point - sleek on the top and menswear inspired on the bottom. I think you rocked it. I like that you paired them with heels.

the "mants" look so great, and I'm so jealous!!!!! I have yet to find some thrifted ones that fit me just right but you really rock them so well. Wear them more often! I can't wait to see how you style them.

A bit big, yes, but that's the point. I give this look a thumbs up.

Perhaps in the future a girly, fitted bustier style top might be a good counterpoint, too. Yes...I'd quite like to see you rocking that, too!

You look as lovely as can be in your mants! I think they're a perfect fit. Oh, boys. What do they know? :)

I'm not a trouser fan but they look exactly how they're supposed to me. & you definitely pull them off well =)

I like them too, a lot! I would agree with some of the other commentators that a more structured top may work better, but I still think this works quite nicely. Kudos for trying something outside of your comfort zone, I know it isn't easy :)

They are pleated and tapered, so they do carry a bit of volume up top, but with the belt and the heels, you can completely pull them off!

i really love these on you! i think the pleats probably just make them seem 'big' but they really don't look it at all. very chic!

Those pants look great on you! Take what boyfriend says with a grain of salt. Trousers are never going to look as slimming as skinny jeans or leggings... it doesn't mean they're not flattering in a different way. Look at old photos of Audrey Hepburn. So much trousers. So much good.

i absolutely love these trousers – they are effortlessly chic, in a katharine hepburn kind of way. they don’t look “big” at all :)
