Outtakes

Today - for the third time - I attempted to take outfit photos. And today (again, third time) I got to my computer, looked at them...and frowned. Lately, every time I try to photograph my outfits (or get my boyfriend to, as I did today) I end up with only a few good shots while all the rest are horrible. I have no time for detail shots (or if I do they turn out awful) and I get discouraged and don't post. So today I decided to combine them all so that I could share the few decent photos...even if there aren't enough to devote to one post for each separate outfit.

Anyways, here are some of the funny outtake photos. Unfortunately, most of the photos I've taken recently have looked a lot less like those up there and a lot more like these...

Milton and Lola invaded my picture taking...

so I was like "Oh, I'll pick them up! It'll be a cute photo of us all!" Only instead of looking cute I decided to look like a half asleep homeless person. And the puppies decided to look really distressed. So basically, it looks like I'm holding someone's puppies hostage and demanding food or drugs or something.

dark outtake

Here's me thinking "yaaay pretty pictures of my new dress!" You can't tell from this photo, but it actually wasn't pitch black outside, believe it or not.

stripes outtake

That face was in response to a creepy man across the street telling me to "smile real pretty."

I know exactly how you feel. I just wrote a post about how frustrating it is to photograph yourself... in your case, you have a boyfriend to help you out... but nonetheless, sometimes you have off days, I know I do. But you look lovely in these photos and I like your outfit. Lady, you are so tall and slender. Jealous!

Bad luck! I know what just how you feel. Sadly, I have less pride than you and just post bad photos anyway with an accompanying "lolsrybadphotoskillz" ...or something like that!

On a happier note, I love your new green dress!

I get discouraged with my photos too. You look so pretty in all of these though! I especially love your shorts with the striped sweater! I would kill for your legs!!

I think we've all been there, even when it's not for blogging purposes. I see pictures of myself at events and I'm like WHY?! :)

They look good to me though.

I absolutely LOVE the stripped shirt outfit with the clogs. I am so happy I bought them. Thank a million for introducing them to me!

Oh I hate it when that happens. I think the summer sunlight is starting to make it more difficult for pictures to turnout anyways. But you look fabulous in those outfits! It's just too bad the pictures weren't very good.

Oh i know that feeling! It's so irritating when all of your photos turn out so mediocre, especially if it's a great outfit! I love your expression after the guy shouted at you, very funny! Great outfits, i love the dresses.

Also, your puppies are just too adorable for words!

What looks good/normal in real life and what looks good on camera are two entirely different things. It's a hard and frustrating learning curve I'm climbing right now, too. You look cute, though! I LOVE those clogs from Yellowbox!!

I hate when I take pictures and don't have enough that I like for an outfit post! But honestly these are all so so cute! You look adorable.

The remote for my camera is my BFF. When I take outfit shots, I typically take at least 50-100 and only 4-6 of those are every shared. Though, you look adorable in your outtakes, you are a brave lady for posting pictures of yourself you don't like!

I feel your pain about taking lots of pictures but only end up with a few "good" (not even great!) shots. But sometimes a few shots is all you need, right?:) Btw, these photos don't like like they're outtakes, seriously!:) And how versatile are those brown wedges?? They go with all your outfits :D

Another btw... HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY! I hope you had a blast! :)

Its so brave of you to post your outtakes, even though they aren't bad at all! You should see mine! At least they give me something to laugh at. :)

It's a bummer when none of your photos turn out the way you want them to.

I know how you feel...it can be really hard to feel satisfied with your shots. I like to grab the camera once or twice from whoever my volunteer photographer of the day is and quickly scan through the shots so I can see what clearly isn't working and stop doing that, haha. Also, something a former model told me (that made me feel a lot better about my outfit shots) is that from any shoot, approx 10-20% of the pictures will be usable. So since she told me that, I always try to make sure that I take at least 10 times more shots then I actually want. Hope this is helpful!
