Good Intentions

I had good intentions for this day. And this outfit. And this post. But nothing turned out as I planned. I was going to be really productive today. I was going to clean my apartment and run all sorts of errands. I was going to wear a cute outfit which involved a skirt and a lacy floral top and my new knee high boots. I was going to spend lots of time messing around with the manual settings on my camera and take really great photos for my blog. But none of this happened. I woke up and saw that it was dreary and grey outside. And for the third day in a row, some sort of cold/allergy/sinus monster continued to inhabit my head, leaving me all stuffy with a headache and a sore throat. I did my best, but I couldn't resist the urge to wear jeans and put my hair up. (And I definitely didn't clean my apartment.)

Cardigan - Old Navy; Shirt - Urban Outfitters; Jeans - American Eagle; Boots - Arturo Chiang

In other news, my mom and I went to the thrift store this evening and I found SEVEN amazing sweaters. Super exciting, as I actually don't have many sweaters in my wardrobe. Hooray for warmth on a budget.

P.S. You can't really tell, but my earrings are little gold owls. In case you were wondering...

Mountain View.

Wore this to class and out to sushi with my madre. Thanks for lunch, Mom! For dessert we had Deep Fried Tempura Cheesecake. With ice cream. Oh my gosh, you guys. Yum.

Hat - Charlotte Russe; Top - Wet Seal; Shorts - Calvin Klein (vintage/thrifted); Bag - Coach (vintage/thrifted); Shoes - Old Navy

Black is usually my go-to when I can't decide what to wear or nothing else looks right. I got this top on super-sale at Wet Seal for $3, along with a few other things...including $1 floral leggings which I'm super excited about. You will definitely be seeing them soon.

I've been admiring Maria's adorable little vintage Coach bag for a while - I'd even considered buying one on ebay. But then I found this one while thrfiting! Whee!

Thank you guys for all your support, comments, and congratulating. I feel really guilty about neglecting all your blogs because I'm so busy with end of the semester school stuff and starting a new job, but I promise I'll catch up soon! You guys are awesome.

Ok, I have to go get ready to see David Sedaris tonight!

Casual Friday.

It wasn't until after I'd gone out that I realized my tripod wasn't in my car. So yeah...these pictures aren't so great.

Dress (worn as shirt) - Gap; Belt, sandals - Urban Outfitters; Pants - thrifted

I wore this last night for a delicious sushi feast. I threw this outfit together because the pants and sandals are new and I was quite eager to wear them. Snagged the pants at the thrift store and I looooove them. The fabric is so light weight. Hooray for summer pants! This outfit makes me want to go the beach. Ok, everything makes me want to go to the beach...but this feels very walking-around-a-beach-town-in-the-evening.

Well, my stomach is growling and I have a big to-do list I need to get going on. Hopefully I can catch some sun today too! What are you doing this weekend?

Tripod Adventures.

Photobucket

I finally bought a tripod! I still really need a new camera, but at least I'll be able to take photos in more interesting places without the help of my boyfriend. I'm hoping I'll get a new camera for my birthday...in June...sigh.

Photobucket

Despite having a new tripod these photos didn't turn out so great. I need to practice with it some more. And I didn't realize the weird positioning of that tree directly behind me until just now. oops.

I wore this out thrifting and to lunch with by boyfriend. I found some great stuff - including a skirt I'm going to attempt to hem. I've never hemmed anything before (I just learned how to use a sewing machine) so if any of you know of any good skirt-hemming tutorials I'd love to see them!
